GILES COUNTY SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

1 NOVEMBER 2021

Chairman Jackson opened the meeting asking Tommy Pollard to provide the prayer and lead the pledge.  The previous minutes of 22 September 2021 were approved after a motion by Rodney Journey and seconded by Erin Curry.

 

First Item on the agenda the 141 School Amendment – Dr. Beard explained that the amendment was to provide bonuses to all certificated employees of $1000 and to all non-certificated employees a bonus of $750 (this would include supervisors).  Net fund balance reduction would be $290,245 with the total balance for bonuses being $524,958.  Balance of $234,713 had been approved in a previous budget process.  Rodney Journey questioned if the bus drivers were included and the answer, yes in the $750 range.  Erin Curry motioned for approval, with Rodney Journey seconding.  It was noted that the school board had not yet approved but were aware of the proposed bonuses.  The motion was amended to include “contingent upon school board approval.”  Motion approved.

 

Second Agenda Item 143 School Amendment – This budget line item for cafeteria is federally funded and has full budget coverage for proposed bonuses of $750 for full time and $250 for part time employees.  Motion was made by Erin Curry, seconded by Rodney Journey to approve, contingent upon school board approval.  Motion approved.

 

With no old business, or new business, Rodney Journey motioned to adjourn with Erin Curry seconding.  Motion approved.
