Melissa was born and raised in Bowling Green, KY. She went to college at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. Later she obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville. After working as an environmental engineer designing water and wastewater systems for 10 years, she started her own business from the basement of her home. In 2011 Melissa was the president and owner of M&M Staffing, LLC. She grew the business to a weekly average of 70 employees by 2019. She owned M&M Staffing for 7 years. During this time Melissa was appointed as a Giles County Commissioner and then elected as a County Commissioner 2014. In 2018 Melissa campaigned for and was elected to the County Executive office. Melissa has been married to her husband Jim for 18 years and they have two children, Lex and Shelby who attend school in Giles County.
