School Committee Meeting Minutes
14 July 2026
School Committee Chair Commissioner Judy Pruett opened the meeting asking Commissioner Roger Reedy to offer a prayer and lead the pledge. The minutes of 8 May 2026 were moved for approval by Commissioner Terry Jones, seconded by Commissioner Matthew Hopkins, and were approved unanimously. Prior to addressing the proposed school budget amendments Financial Manager (FM) Beth Moore-Sumners expressed her appreciation for the school’s hard work in closing out purchase orders prior to the end of the budget year.
Budget Amendment for 2026-2027 County General Fund 101 (handout provided). The FM provided additional information on each line item, those being Prior Approval/Rollover, Courthouse Historic Development Grant, Animal Shelter – Bissell Building Grant, Animal Shelter – Bissell Shelter Needs, Sheriff K-9 Donations, Sheriff – Work Crew Wood Project Donation, Ag Park Healthy Build Environment Grant, EMA -HSGP Grant – Vehicle Barrier System 2025, Opioid Funds 22-23, Opioid Funds 23-24, Opioid Funds 24-25, ARPA – Health Department, ARPA Library Broadband Ready Grant, Ag Park FEMA HMPG Community Safe Room Grant, Animal Shelter Spay & Neuter Grant, Ambulance – Rural Health Transformation Grant, and General Capital Projects Fund Other General Government Projects. The FM noted the majority of the amendments were for grants/donations and a motion by Commissioner Terry Jones, seconded by Commissioner Matthew Hopkins, was made to approve the amendments. The Chair asked if the public had any comments (none) and the motion was then approved unanimously.
Chair asked for any other business or announcements and there were none. Motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Terry Jones, seconded by Commissioner Matthew Hopkins, and was approved unanimously.
