The Giles County Democratic Party has requested the Giles County Election Commission hold a county primary to be held Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Offices to be on the county primary ballot are County Executive, Trustee, Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, School Board Members District 1, 3, 5, 7, County Commissioners District 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Circuit Court Judge Part 1, 22nd Judicial District unexpired term. The nominees elected in the primary will be on the August 6, 2026 County General ballot. The first day to pickup petitions for the primary is Monday, December 22, 2025. YOU MUST DECLARE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY if you choose to run in the primary. Otherwise, you will declare Independent to be on the August 6, 2026 County General ballot. Qualifying deadline for candidates is February 19, 2026, @ 12:00 Noon. Withdrawal deadline is February 26, 2026 @ 12:00 Noon.
Candidates for Elkton City, Lynnville City and Minor Hill City Elections to be held Thursday, August 6, 2026 MUST qualify by Tuesday, March 10, 2026, @ 12:00 Noon. The first day to pickup a petition for these offices is January 9, 2026.
